Halloween 2012

October 31, 2012 by Trina 14 Comments

I usually put more effort into costumes but last year and this year I just didn’t have the time.  But we did dress up and the kids did LOVE their costumes {outfits, really haha} so that’s all that matters.

Rayna was a cute nerd and Xander was a punk rocker.  He kept calling it “pump” rocker at first so after I had a laugh or two I corrected him.  His favorite part was the mohawk with the red “flame” tips.  And the tattoo.  He was sad to learn it wasn’t permanent, ha!  Rayna had her own nerd dance to go along with the outfit.  I wish you could have seen it.  That kid is a hoot.

I wasn’t planning to dress up but I really got in the spirit after seeing so many of my co-workers dressed up and I was bummed I wasn’t. So after I got home and got the kids ready I threw this together…

I snagged my 10 year old kitty cat, Mia, for these shots.  She’s an indoor cat so she was a bit freaked and wouldn’t look at the camera :(

As I told my husband…Halloween:  The only time of year it’s acceptable to wear a belt around your neck.  But it worked as a cat collar in a pinch ;)  This was totally the easiest “costume” ever and sort of lame, but it was something haha.  Jonathan didn’t dress up because the only time he will is when I ask him to.  We went to a local church for food, games, candy and prizes then came back to our neighborhood and hit a few houses on our street before calling it a night.

Hope you had a safe and happy Halloween!

  1. Everyone looks great! Y’all did a great job with the outfits which is fun and all that matters :) It is true that the belt did work, can’t argue with that- wouldn’t have known if you hadn’t said anything, LOL! Glad y’all had fun :)

  2. Love the costumes! I had every intention of dressing up this year, but, as it always ends up, I just don’t have it in me once the kids’ costumes are complete.

    There’s always next year, though!

    • I’ve decided I’m going to start really planning for next year now that I know it’s such a big thing at my new office. We had a Mary Poppins, a box of crayons, Pocahontas, and many more. So fun!

  3. Y’all look too cute! I love the outfits.

  4. Where did you get your tights?? I have brown leopard print tights but MUST have the black ones and have desperately been looking. Kids look presh and you totally adorbs!

  5. so cute and love your header !!!

  6. PRECIOUS outfits for Halloween!
    just love your blog! ♥

  7. Seriously?! That’s not lame! Those tights really pull it all together and give it the cat vibe if you ask me, which you didn’t, but still =]

    The kids look adorable!

    • Thank you! I just meant that it’s the most overused last minute female costume haha. But yes, the tights I think made all the difference! :)
