Monday I heard about a movie shoot that was happening in our town Tuesday and they were calling for extras. I quickly made plans with a friend over Twitter to attend. Since I was heading there after work I wanted to wear something cute, comfortable and modest.
This is actually the outfit I wore to work on Tuesday and I changed into my skinny jeans for the movie shoot because by the end of the day those blue pants {as cute as they are} get slightly saggy in the butt. Boo. But I just can’t give them up.
Tank: Target {I love these tanks and have about 7 of them in different colors}, cardi: Marshalls {very old}, scarf: Old Navy {recent}, pants: Target, shoes: Miz Mooz from a Hautelook sale, watch: Walmart, ring: Rue 21
The movie shoot was for a film called Grace Unplugged which stars AJ Michalka {of AJ and Aly}, James Denton {of Desperate Housewives}, Michael Welch {of Twilight} and Jamie Grace {Christian music artist}….and Chris Tomlin {who doesn’t know that name?}! The scene they were shooting was a concert where Grace was the opening act for Chris Tomlin and they filmed her and Johnny {James} “singing” Never Let Go.
They did so many takes! Now I know why filming a movie takes forever. haha It was fun to be an extra as part of the concert, but it was a LONG night. Since it was a school/work night I kept worrying when I’d get home {after 11, thank you very much! ha} but I kept telling myself this was a rare opportunity. I doubt you’ll even see me in it. I might just be a speck on a screen, but I can say I was there!
Have you ever been an extra in a movie?

I haven’t been an extra on a movie but I have been an extra on a TV show! Not sure if you were around when I was an extra for One Tree Hill or not but you can see me a few times.

How fun! When we lived in SoCal, I think I was inadvertently in a few commercials. Filming is so common everywhere there, you could walk around a corner and BAM! be in the next car commercial!!! Love this look, the scarf is gorg. I’ll be looking for your movie debut at Redbox! ~Sarah

I’ve been an extra in a tv pilot … that never aired. All those extra takes for nothing…bummer. It was still a fun experience on the back lots of Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.

Trina,
They are Kut brand and I can’t wait to wear them! I’m also eyeing a hot pink pair that’s on sale at a boutique in town… It’s like a colored denim addiction.

Hey, girl! Brian and I have actually been in lots of movies and tv shows-Dawson Creek, Fast Lane, Without a Trace (we stayed in Cali for 2 weeks back in ’03 and now are good friends with Walter Mathhau’s son, Charlie), Brian has had featured extra roles in Charlie’s Angels Full Throttle football player, Boycott (an HBO film), as a reporter, I was an extra, and The Fighting Temptation-featured extra-you can see him VERY well here, and for a few minutes.
We also were in Juwanna Man and a few indie films, the latest being Company M: A Mob of Soldiers wheer we have speaking roles. It’s very exciting but truly alot of hurry up and wait. I can remember having 5AM call times and not getting home until 10 PM sometimes, just to do it again the next day. We had speaking roles in an indie called Louie the Moon in NC a few years ago and it was mighty cold in those mountains, lol, but not so bad with craft services yay for free food and drinks) and pay, even if only for minimum wage at times, lol. I’m so glad you got to experience it!
