What I’ve learned this week is that in order to really capture Photo Friday moments I have to have my camera at the ready. I also learned I’m a little too willing to sacrifice my children’s feelings in order to capture them as well.
Xander was playing with our lazy Susan cabinet {which he’s been told repeatedly not to do} and he ended up smashing his finger in the cabinet door. He started whimpering and I just shook my head and giggled at him because he’s been told time and time again. {Man, that sounds mean…but I knew he wasn’t that hurt, I could tell by the whimper. And there was no blood or anything. I wanted him to learn his lesson: Don’t play with the lazy Susan cabinet!}
Well he got SO MAD at me for giggling at him that he went and hid under the kitchen table and started crying. All the while I’m thinking: this is a perfect opportunity for an ANGRY photo! I’m so getting Mom of the Year this year. *hangs head in shame*
Of course I didn’t have my camera ready, so I coaxed him out from under the table and apologized for laughing but explained this is why he shouldn’t play with the cabinet. {Did I redeem myself any?} Then I went to get the camera and captured what was left of his “angry” face.
Ok, your turn…did you sacrifice feelings for a photo opp like I did? I know this week was hard, but I hope to see some submissions!
Next week’s theme: Temptation {This could be SO many things

Lol, I do that too with my youngest. I thought I was the only one! My pics are just from my cell phone, and aren’t as good.

ummm… can I say? That picture ROCKS!!!!!!!!!! His expression is so REAL.. & I love how nothing in the picture distracts from his face. I even love the light hitting the top of his head. This is PERFECT!
I totally gotta jump back in – I miss these Photo challenges!

Hahahaha ! I used to do that with my kids too and as they got madder when I wanted a photo, it wasn’t a pretty situation. Those photos end up being the ones the kids get a kick about when they grow up and want us to tell the backstory to them ( also good to tell grandkids stories about their parents ) *WINK*

Oh I love that photo! And don’t feel bad. I parent like that all the time. Natural consequences.

excellent use of The Child! and i think he’ll love looking back on it as an adult. you know, if he’s not in therapy, discussing his mom.
