Weekend Wrap Up

January 31, 2011 by Trina 7 Comments

Hi all!  We had some absolutely AMAZING weather this weekend!  It felt like spring time!

Friday night after I got home the family and I cleaned house.  Exciting right?  Well, during the week the house gets pretty much ZERO attention, so by Friday it’s a complete mess.  I try to keep it picked up, but seriously the hubs and kids have no concept of “everything has a place” and instead stuff gets left wherever.  So frustrating.  But anyway, we all cleaned and I was happy again :)  LOL

Saturday morning hubs went hunting super early.  Today {Monday}  is the last day of deer season and he wanted to get in another hunt before then.  He was gone pretty much all day so the kids and I hung out that morning until my sister in law came to get them for a birthday party and to see a movie.

I had Saturday afternoon to myself so what did I do?!  CRAFT!  I know I should be ashamed for not getting outside Saturday afternoon when the weather was a glorious 70 degrees with no humidity, but I had stuff to do!  HA!

I got the new shoe clip blanks I ordered from Etsy {which are much better!} and the seam binding ribbon in the mail Friday so I was ready to go.  I shared with y’all last week some of the things I wanted to try and I was able to make the pom pom shoe clips I saw on Grosgrain.  I LOVE how they turned out!  And I’m pretty much obsessed with making more in different colors.

Say hello to my feline baby girl, Mia.  She’s 8 and such a sweet kitty.  She’s helping me model my shoe pom poms today.  Also, please excuse my crummy cell phone pics.  I accidently left my memory card in my computer at work Friday so I had no memory card to take pics with my fancy camera. :(

I also made my sweet friend Kimberly a pair of the rolled fabric rose shoe clips I made for myself. I should’ve taken a pic, but they look pretty much the same as these, except the buttons are pewter instead of bronze:

I also started the hand embroidery for the fabric love note I shared from Flamingo Toes. I can’t wait to have it finished so I can show you. It took me about 30 minutes just to embroider the first word on it. So I hope it’s done before Valentine’s Day! HA!

Saturday evening I went to Hobby Lobby armed with a list of things and they didn’t have two of the items on my list.  Irritating!  But I still managed to get a few things I did need after spending almost 2 hours there!  YIKES!  lol

Sunday service at church was so good. I know, I know, I say that all the time, but seriously it was such a great message. I had notes all in the margins and every blank space of paper on my outline, that’s how good it was. If you want to take a listen, go here. The message is on First Fruits and it’s the last one in the series.  As a matter of fact, I think I’m going to listen to it again today.

After church I stopped by Michael’s craft store for some things and of course they didn’t have what I was looking for. GRRRR.  It’s so frustrating to go to a craft store and them not have what I need. I’m having to order more and more things from the internet…

Sunday afternoon my sister in law came over so we could do some DISNEY planning! I’m so excited! We spent about two hours going over our itinerary and when we were finished, posted it to the forum on TourGuideMike’s website. We’ve already gotten some feedback, mostly saying we might need to rethink it. LOL So, it’s back to the drawing board, but we have time to tweak it, so it’s all good.

Hope you all had a great weekend with wonderful weather!
