Many of you noticed my peacock feather print that was in the bathroom makeover post. I wanted to tell ya’ll about it but I didn’t want to make that post any longer, and it wasn’t part of the review. So I decided to do a separate post telling you what I did.
We painted on Saturday and on Sunday I got the idea to take a few pictures of the peacock feathers I have and frame them. I couldn’t decide if I wanted a poster size print to go above the tub or do a smaller collage. I ended up finding that metal cross that I won at Bunco several months ago and didn’t have anywhere to put it. Above the tub was perfect for that cross, so I decided I would do a smaller collage of the feathers and hang above my radio.
After taking the pictures and sorting thru them I decided to go with 3, two singles and a double. I uploaded them to Walgreens and had them printed in 5x7s. My friend Brittaney and I headed to Target and looked for frames. As you noticed I found one that would hold 3, it was brown and only $10. Perfect.

Here are a few of the pics I took so you can see how much detail the digital macro setting has. That setting is perfect for closeups of almost everything.
See how it focused on the strands right in front and the other eye feather is slightly out of focus?
One of my favorite shots. When you click on it to enlarge, you can see all the tiny hairs on the strands. I love how you can also see the color change in the center “eye”.
Another view, this time at an angle, with the strands in focus.

If you have a digicam and haven’t played around with this setting, I encourage you to try it. Sometimes they come out blurry, just keep shooting until you get the hang of it.
