Sunday afternoon, Jonathan and I were having a leisurely day. I was in the kitchen about to fix lunch and Jonathan came in and said, “You’re wasting water ya know.”

I said, “What? No I’m not.”

He replied, “Well, the shower is running and I didn’t turn it on.”

I was so bewildered at that moment, did I really turn the shower on? So I went to turn it off and racked my brain how long it had been running. I could not remember for the life of me.

After a few minutes I had a slight remembrance of moving the washrag off the faucet to turn the knob, but couldn’t remember when I did it. So I went ahead and fixed lunch and then decided to take a shower. All this time I was trying to remember when I turned that shower on. I could see it in my mind, turning the knob, but what made me forget and how long had it been running?

While I was in the shower it hit me. It was when I heard my phone alerting me that I had received a text message. Right before that I had decided I would take a shower and I went to turn on the water. I stepped out of the bathroom when I heard my phone so I went to check the text.

It was from my friend Brittany telling me she got engaged and I was so excited I apparently completely forgot about the shower running.

When I got out of the shower, I checked my phone, the text was sent at 11:53am. Jonathan mentioned the shower was running about 1:15pm.

I had let that shower run for almost an hour and a half! I was so ticked at myself.

Jonathan just said, “I’m just glad it wasn’t me that did it.”

Me too, babe, me too. LOL

So to make me feel a little better, tell me one of your crazy I’ve-totally-lost-my-mind bloopers. It’ll be like free therapy. Which is way cheaper than what my water bill will be this month.
