Just call her Snaggletooth

January 15, 2009 by Trina Comments Off

Tuesday night I picked the kids up from my in-laws before the Basement and Rayna was showing me her tooth. She’s been showing me for about 2 months now and saying, “Look Momma, it’s loose!”

Well Tuesday night it was very loose and I said to her it would come out within the week but told her to quit messing with it and let it come out on its own.

After we got home from the Basement, she said she was going to go check on her tooth. In her mirror. I didn’t pay much attention to that but then she ended up being gone for several minutes. When I started to go look for her she finally walked back into my bedroom with her hands behind her back and this really guilty look on her face.

I said, “What?”

She opened her mouth and I gasped, very audibly, and put my hand over my mouth.

I could see the fear in her eyes, she thought she was in trouble because I had told her to quit messing with it.

I said, “Did you pull that out?!”

She said, “No, it just fell out!”

Ok…sure kiddo.

So I stood there just in disbelief that she pulled her own tooth. And didn’t even cry. And didn’t let me witness this milestone. I just knew that when the time came, it would be hanging on by a thread of skin and there would much wailing and gnashing of teeth.

She was dancing around singing, “I’m so excited, I just can’t hide it!”

My baby is growing up. It’s hard to believe that just 6 years ago she was all snuggled inside my tummy. *sigh*
